Om Prakash Kohli ji has adorned the posts of former member of Rajya Sabha, the upper representative house of Indian democracy and Governor of Gujarat. He discharged the responsibility of President of Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and served as lecturer in Hansraj College and Deshbandhu College of Delhi for more than 37 years. Kohli ji was the President of Delhi Unit of BJP from 7 January 2009 to 15 May 2010. He was also arrested under MISA during the Emergency. Kohli ji, a post graduate in Hindi from Delhi University, was an academician and politician as well as a writer.

He wrote books like 'Rashtriya Suraksha Ke Morche Par', 'Shiksha Niti' and 'Bhaktikal Ke Santo Ki Samajik Chetna' etc.
